The Zakhama cushion covers 45×45 have been handwoven by women in Nagaland from 100% pure cotton. Situated in North East India, this state is a land of tribal cultures, warriors, mountains and mystery. With a rich tradition of DIY, these tribes weave their textiles from 100% pure cotton using loin looms. With vibrant colors and their traditional geometric motifs, these cushion covers can aesthetically connect your living room to the love and care with which they were handwoven by the Naga women.
Hand-spun and handwoven
These cushion covers have been handspun and handwoven by rural women of several tribes in Nagaland. They use a low-height loom, kept on the floor, that is commonly known as a loin loom. This hand-weaving process is labor intensive and requires special skill to operate the loom, making these cushion covers a perfect product of love and care.
Tribal Design
The Naga weaving communities use their tribal motifs and weaving patterns on their weaves. These patterns are cultural elements of these tribes and as such vary from tribe to tribe. When you add these cushion covers to your decor, you add a bit of their oriental heritage to your home. These colors and motifs are a beautiful reminder of the sustainable lives they have in their small communities and how far their cultural token have traveled to be with you.
Ethically Made
These decorative cushions 45×45 have been woven using 100% natural materials without causing any harm to animals or the local flora of Nagaland. The weavers receive fair pay and due credit for their craftsmanship work.
